Woodstock and Bladon News has been covering Town Council meetings since 2022, and reports have been published in the magazine. They have now been compiled and collated into a single searchable pdf file, which can be downloaded here
Town Council Minutes are available to view at www.woodstock-tc.gov.uk. However, these are uploaded by the Council as individual documents, and searching all 29 documents for the year 2024/2025 takes some time. The Editor had amalgamated these documents for his own benefit into one individual pdf file, making the search much faster. Up until 4 August, this was also available to download from the WOBL website.
However, at the Town Council meeting of 22 July 2025, one of the Councillors complained about this and the meeting asked the Clerk to research whether downloading Town Council’s Minutes was legal and proper. The Editor’s view is that publishing publicly available documents is legal, but we have decided to remove them for the time being, until the Clerk gives his ruling. The Editor has actually complied all Town Council Minutes from 2013 onwards into much easier searchable documents and is happy to share with individuals upon request. There are over 240 meetings.
At the Town Council meeting of 2 September 2025, a ‘Copyright Policy’ was approved, and the Town Council has stipulated that Minutes cannot be shared. The Clerk has still not shared the Council’s reasons, and until the situation is confirmed, the document will not be shared by a link – however, the Editor is happy to send the document if anyone requests it.
